The facade of your house takes on numerous functions. It protects you from the elements and it separates the inside from the outside of your home. But your facade also makes or breaks the look of your house. It gives your home aesthetic expression. Cedral, the expert in facade cladding, gives you inspiration for modern designs, with clear lines, cuboid architecture, clean shapes and floor-to-ceiling windows. You are only limited by your imagination!
Ultimate transparency with floor-to-ceiling windows
When you have a view from your home, you want to enjoy it to the max. Floor-to-ceiling windows drag the outside in. This doesn’t only allow you to soak up the surroundings, it also brings generous daylight into your home, adding to the pleasure and comfort of living.

A retired couple had this contemporary beach house built in Newport-on-Tay (Scotland). The enormous window section on the first floor gives the homeowners a precious view of the picturesque river Tay, without allowing prying looks into the home. The first floor facade in modern-looking Cedral Click sidings with timber pattern marvellously complements the natural-stone ground floor. The weatherboards are low maintenance, which was an absolute requirement for the owners.
Clean facade design with black sidings
You wouldn’t immediately think of black as a colour for your facade, yet it gives a building instantaneously a contemporary feel. But it goes wider than just the colour, you can also play with the lines created by facade panels to accentuate the clean shapes and volumes of the building.
This family in Neu-Ulm (Germany) chose to build an energy-efficient house with an extraordinary modern look and feel. They used black Cedral Lap sidings with timber motive, to create a stylish combination of wood patterns with horizontal lines all over the façade, including the windows. The Cedral fibre-cement panels are ultra-durable and fire resistant too.
Go vertical instead of horizontal
When we think of facade cladding, we usually think of horizontal boards. But it is also perfectly possible to use Cedral Click vertically. This gives your home a refreshing look that emphasizes the height of your building. The vertical panels optically stretch your building upwards. This creates a novel and contemporary effect.
Combine different types of facade cladding
Cedral fibre-cement facade boards are perfect to accentuate parts of your home and create surprising designs. They go wonderfully well with other types of facade cladding. In the example above, the cream fibre-cement panels nicely complemented the reddish-brown bricks on the ground floor.

This stylish example of a detached house in Deventer (the Netherlands) combines dark Cedral Click with cream plaster walls. The vertically used sidings with wood pattern form the continuation of the floor-to-ceiling windows. The vertical lines are also continued in the wooden floorboards of the terrace. A modern gem set on the water.
Generate the impression of space with horizontal panels
Horizontal lines elongate your building, drawing it out, solidly placing it on the ground. The lines also make other facade elements stand out, such as window sections and extensions in different facade cladding, creating a dynamic interaction between them.
A stylish horizontal French house with pool: https://www.cedral.world/en/cladding/cladding-projects/private-house-in-bugueles/5690/
This new build in Bugueles (France) seamlessly blends into the stunning surroundings. This house also illustrates a jump in scale in terms of panel surface. The Cedral Lap panels with timber pattern act as a frame, wrapping themselves horizontally around the four sides of this modern building. The light grey colour perfectly matches the blue tones of the swimming pool.
Regardless of whether you opt for Cedral Lap or Cedral Click, for a smooth surface or with an embossed wood structure, the facade panels can be easily combined with other modern materials. Find more inspiration and create your own style at http://cedral.world
